THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (RPWD) ACT, 2016
The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016 is a
landmark Indian legislation that replaced the outdated 1995 Act. It
upholds the dignity of disabled individuals, mandates strict anti-
discrimination measures across public and private sectors,

empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) across India.
THE PRE-CONCEPTION AND PRE-NATALDIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES (PROHIBITION OF SEX SELECTION) ACT, 1994 (PCPNDT ACT).
An Act to provide for the prohibition of sex selection, before or after
conception, and for regulation of pre-
natal diagnostic techniques for the purposes of detecting genetic
abnormalities or metabolic disorders or
chromosomal abnormalities or certain congenital malformations or
sex-linked disorders and for the preven-
tion of their misuse for sex determination leading to female
foeticide.
FOETUS” means a human organism during the period of its
development beginning on the fifty-
seventh day following fertilization or creation (excluding any time in
which its development
has been suspended) and ending at the birth.

critical and strategic minerals beneficiation and extraction
technologies.
PROJECT KUSHA
Project Kusha, or Extended Range Air Defence System (ERADS), is a
programme under the Defense Research and Development
Organization for the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy. The
programme was also previously referred to as XRSAM. The goal is to
design a mobile long-range surface-to-air missile system. The phased
induction of the missile system consisting three variants of
interceptors into the services is expected between 2028 and 2030.
It will supplement the Barak 8, S-400 and Indian Ballistic Missile
Defence Programme.

DEFENCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ORGANISATION (DRDO)
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has
successfully demonstrated multiple crucial technologies
bolstering the nation’s defence capabilities against different
types of enemy threats. Three consecutive flight-tests were
conducted on June 10 & 11, 2026 to demonstrate multi-layered
defence against long range ballistic missiles and anti-ship
capability at medium range.
Multi-layered Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) capability was
successfully demonstrated.
THE INDIAN BALLISTIC MISSILE DEFENCE PROGRAMME
The Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Programme is an initiative
to develop and deploy a multi-layered ballistic missile defence
system to protect India from ballistic missile attacks. It was
launched in 1999 after the Kargil War
t is a double-tiered system consisting of two land and sea-
based interceptor missiles, namely the Prithvi Air Defence
(PAD) missile for High Altitude interception, and the Advanced
Air Defence (AAD) Missile for lower altitude interception. The
two-tiered shield should be able to intercept any incoming
missile launched from 5,000 kilometres away.

PRAKRIT
Prakrit is a group of vernacular classical Middle Indo-Aryan
languages that were used in the Indian subcontinent from around
the 5th century BCE to the 12th century CE
The oldest stage of Middle Indo-Aryan language is attested in the
inscriptions of Ashoka (c. 260 BCE), as well as in the earliest forms of
Pāli, the language of the Theravāda Buddhist canon. The most
prominent form of Prakrit is Ardhamāgadhı̄, associated with the
ancient kingdom of Magadha, in modern Bihar, and the subsequent
Mauryan Empire. Mahāvīra, the 24th and last Tīrthaṅkara of Jainism,
was born in Magadha, and the earliest Jain texts were composed in
Ardhamāgadhı̄.
NALLAMALA FOREST
Nallamala Forest is located in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh
and Telangana. It is part of the Eastern Ghats. Nagarjunsagar-
Srisailam Tiger Reserve is the largest tiger reserve in India and is
spread across districts of Nandyal, Kadapa, Prakasam, Palnadu,
Nalgonda, and Nagarkurnool.
THE NEXT CHIEF OF THE ARMY STAFF
