LAKSHMI NARASIMHA TEMPLE 

Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is a Vaishnavite temple and one of the eight sacred places of Lord Vishnu in India.

It is situated at the foot of the Auspicious Hill in Mangalagiri which is part of the Vijayawada part of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India.

ADVANCED ELECTROSPUN NANOFIBER MEMBRANE

  • Scientists at the Hyderabad-based CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT) have achieved a significant breakthrough in sustainable water purification with the development of an advanced electrospun nanofiber membrane for textile wastewater treatment.
  • Their latest research focuses on removing crystal violet dye—a hazardous pollutant widely discharged by the textile industry.
  • next-generation mixed-matrix nanofiber membrane based on a blend of polyvinylidene fluoride and polyethersulfone, engineered for improved performance.

DATE PALM

  • India is the largest country in import of Date Palm importing about 38% of the world market.
  • Traditionally, the local varieties of Date Palm were grown from the seeds in Kutch-Bhuj area of Gujarat but, the multiplication from seeds of such plants was not feasible due to dioceous nature of the plants.
  • The high quality planting materials were not available.
  • Date palm farming was started in 2007 in India. In India at present Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Gujarat these five states have started its production.
  • Rajasthan also established Government Date Palm Farm and Centre of Excellence for Date Palm 

KOLLUR MOOKAMBIKA TEMPLE

ARTICLE 244

  • Article 244 of the Constitution of India read with two Schedules – the Fifth and Sixth Schedules – to the Constitution of India provide special arrangements for areas inhabited by Scheduled Tribes.
  • The purpose of Scheduled Areas, as also recognised in several judgments, is to preserve the tribal autonomy, their culture and economic empowerment, to ensure social, economic and political justice, and preservation of peace and good governance.

TENTH SCHEDULE [Articles 102(2) and 191(2)]

Disqualification on ground of defection.-
(a) if he has voluntarily given up his membership of such political party; or
 (b) if he votes or abstains from voting in such House contrary to any direction issued by the political party to which he belongs or by any person or authority authorised by it in this behalf, without obtaining, in either case, the prior permission of such political party, person or authority and such voting or abstention has not been condoned by such political party, person or authority within fifteen days from the date of such voting or abstention.

Decision on questions as to disqualification on ground of defection.-(1) If any question arises as to whether a member of a House has become subject to disqualification under this Schedule, the question House and shall his be decision referred for the decision of the Chairman or, as the case may be, the Speaker of such shall be final:

Article 191 (2) of the Constitution: 191. Disqualifications for membership.-

(1) A person shall be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of the Legislative Assembly or Legislative Council of a State

(a) if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State specified in the First Schedule, other than an office declared by the Legislature of the State by law not to disqualify its holder;

(b) if he is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court;

(d) if he is not a citizen of India, or has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a foreign State, or is under any acknowledgment of allegiance or adherence to a foreign State: (e) if he is so disqualified by or under any law made by Parliament.

THE FOREIGN CONTRIBUTION (REGULATION) AMENDMENT BILL, 2026

  • The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 was introduced in Lok Sabha on March 25, 2026.  The Bill seeks to amend the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.  The Act regulates the acceptance and utilisation of foreign contribution by individuals, associations, and companies. 
  • Under the Act, certain persons must register with the central government for accepting foreign contribution. 
  • unutilised foreign contribution will be credited to the Consolidated Fund of India. 

THE PALAR RIVER

The Palar River is a seasonal river in southern India that flows through Karnataka (93 km), Andhra Pradesh (33 km), and Tamil Nadu (222 km) before emptying into the Bay of Bengal.

THE ARMED FORCES (SPECIAL POWERS) ACT, 1958 (AFSPA)

The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) is an act of the Parliament of India that grants special powers to the Indian Armed Forces to maintain public order in “disturbed areas”.According to the Disturbed Areas (Special Courts) Act, 1976 once declared ‘disturbed’, the area has to maintain status quo for a minimum of 3 months.

PM MITRA PARKS

The Government has finalized setting up of PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks at 7 sites viz. Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navasari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) and Maharashtra (Amravati) with an outlay of Rs. 4,445 cr for a period of seven years upto 2027-28.

It is a flagship scheme by the Government of India to develop 7 mega, integrated textile parks across the country. Anchored in the 5F vision (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign), these parks house the entire textile value chain in one location to reduce logistics costs and boost exports.
